General

These are general questions that have been asked, although not specific to any of our specialties such as wedding photography, wedding videography, portrait photography, or commercial photography.

Why should we choose you?

You should choose us for plenty of reasons, but some of the most important reasons are:

• We will ensure that you have the best possible photos.

• We actually take the time to get to know you and what is important to you.

• When you choose us, you will receive printed heirlooms that you can enjoy for generations, but if you don’t choose us, you will have to figure out how and where to print on your own.

• We will pamper you and you get free cookies at our studio.

• Oh! We have a studio!

• We can create amazing photos no matter the location or lighting, whereas many photographers will only photograph at sunset.

• We are full-time photographers, yup, this is our full-time job, as such, we are more accessible to you.

Are you licensed and insured?

Of course!

Style

Can you make your work look like another photographer?

Although we are capable of producing most styles of work due to our experience, we are passionate about our unique style. If you enjoy another photographer’s style, it is our advice to simply hire them instead.

Do you offer black & white versions?

Any image purchased is available in black & white by request.

How much do you charge?

Do you offer any savings?

Please contact us for any current specials. Active and retired military personnel are also eligible for an exclusive gift.

Tax

Do you charge sales tax?

By law, we are legally required to charge sales tax on services that include tangible products or products themselves.

If I pay in cash, can I avoid sales tax?

You are more than welcome to pay in cash, however, we are legally obligated to still charge sales tax, this is non-negotiable, unfortunately.

Travel

Do you charge for travel?

While some of our events and sessions include complimentary travel, others do require a travel fee in certain situations as detailed below.

Local Event/Session

Complimentary travel is included for all events/sessions within a 60-mile radius (1 hour) or 120-mile roundtrip (2 hours roundtrip) of our Knoxville Studio.

Event/Sessions 120 miles from our studio and coverage ending past 9:00 PM

For longer duration events, such as a wedding, that require travel of 120 miles (2 hours) one direction and last past 9:00 PM, we do charge the Federal Mileage Rate of $0.57/mile, a per diem of $100 and require a single night of hotel accommodations the night of the event.

Event/Sessions 180 miles from our studio and coverage ending past 9:00 PM

For longer duration events, such as a wedding, that require travel of 180 miles+ (3+ hours) one direction and last past 9:00 PM, we do charge the Federal Mileage Rate of $0.57/mile, a per diem of $200 and require 2 nights of hotel accommodations, the day before the event, and the night of the event.

Equipment

Do you use professional equipment?

We only use top-of-the-line equipment at our studio, and if we see that a piece of equipment is becoming outdated, we quickly upgrade to the latest and greatest.

Production

How long until my images are ready?

For most events and sessions, our turnaround is 2 weeks. For special events and sessions requiring a faster turnaround time, we do offer a rush delivery option.

How long until my products are ready?

Most products take anywhere from 2-8 weeks to be delivered once your order is placed

Will I receive all of the images?

During our production process, we eliminate duplicate images, blurry images, and images that do not meet our quality standards. This is all done during our initial culling process. The images that make it through the process are the images that will be presented to you. If you are interested in acquiring all the images, you are welcome to purchase the RAW files.

Will I receive the copyright of the digital images?

With the purchase of digital images, you will receive a release for personal production only. Our studio still retains the copyright to all images and media created.

Wedding

How soon should I book you?

Most couples choose to secure their wedding date with us 8 -16 months in advance.

Do you require a contract?

We do require a signed contract that not only protects our studio, but also you.

Can I make the final payment after my wedding?

Like most wedding vendors, we do require the final payment to be made 30 days prior to your date.

Can I send you a shot list?

Although we do take requests for photographs you desire and family groupings, we do not work off of a shot list, but instead, an internal studio shot list. We have found through our vast experience, that working off a bulleted shot list results in missed meaningful moments as we are too busy focusing on the list itself, instead of the events that are unfolding in front of us.

Can you edit your photos to look like X photographer?

Firstly, if you interested in a particular photographer’s work or editing style, why not choose them instead? With that being said, we do allow our couples to choose an editing preference during the pre-planning process.

What happens if it rains on my session date?

We will move your session date to the next open date.

Video

How long until my wedding video is ready?

Although we cannot guarantee a delivery date, most videos take anywhere from 1-4 months.

Can I purchase the RAW footage?

Yes, we do offer RAW footage for purchase.
