History of Cherokee Country Club

Cherokee Country Club was founded in 1907 just outside of Knoxville, TN. It has served as a recreational home for many generations of families and has also groomed many sports athletes as well as celebrity figures. Cherokee Country Club is located just off of the highly traveled Lyons View Pike and is easily accessible from Kingston Pike.

Golf

Cherokee Golf features a classic 18 hole course designed by Donald Ross in 1907, who has designed over 400 golf courses between the years of 1900 -1948 and laid the foundation for America’s golf history.

A variety of golfing equipment can be purchased at the golf shop which is vast. Before heading out to play a round of golf, you might want to warm up on your short game on the chipping and putting greens that Cherokee Country Club provides. Looking to improve your long game? Cherokee also offers a practice range that will surely help keep you out of the rough.

Tennis

Cherokee Country Club offers nine outdoor and four indoor tennis courts. If it is a bit chilly outside, the indoor tennis courts feature Nova cushion, professional indirect metal halide, and insulation. The outdoor tennis courts are all HardTru clay and are annually resurfaced. Lighting and seating are also provided. The outdoor tennis courts provide a beautiful valley view that is sure to be breathtaking.

Aquatics

Enjoy a summer day at the Cherokee Country Club Pool that features competition length lanes for swimmers looking to compete or improve their general fitness with lap swimming. A diving board is available for those that like to make a splash. For young swimmers, a shallow area will provide you comfort. If it is family day at Cherokee Country Club and you have toddlers, a separate gated pool is the perfect place to relax.

For those looking to compete, Cherokee Country Club is home to the Cherokee Swim Team, ages 3-18 and competes in the Greater Knoxville Area interclub Swim Association (GKAISA)

A new pool complex will begin construction in August 2018. Mark your calendars for the grand opening in May 2019.

Parking

Parking is available at the front of Cherokee Country Club. For weddings, parking spaces may be limited, however, parking may be available across the street at the golf course.
