History Of The Capitol Theatre
The Capitol Theatre was built in 1934 and served as the go-to entertainment location for Maryville. It was also once, Maryville's largest theatre, seating over 1000 guests. Unfortunately, the Capitol Theatre closed down in 1970, only to be repurchased in 2002 by an artist. It now functions as one of the premier wedding venues in Maryville, TN.

Parking at the Capitol Theatre
With the Capitol Theatre being situated conveniently in the heart of downtown Maryville, when it comes to parking, you have plenty of options.
West Church Avenue Parking Garage & Lot
Directly across the street from the Capitol Theatre is the West Church Avenue parking lot, with a parking garage directly below. This parking lot also serves as parking for Barleys Taproom & Pizzeria, so it is usually packed on the weekends.
West Harper Avenue Parking Garage
The West Harper Parking Garage is located behind the Capitol Theatre, but still within close proximity. It can be accessed directly from West Harper Avenue. This parking garage is usually open and offers plenty of parking spaces, even on the weekends. We recommend parking one level below the top level of this parking garage as you can easily access West Broadway Avenue and walk directly to the Capitol Theatre in less than 1 minute of walking.
Drop Off & Unloading
If your event requires drop off & unloading, or you are a wedding vendor that requires unloading of equipment, you can park directly in front of the Capitol Theatre, on Broadway Avenue. Please keep in mind that during the weekends, this space can be occupied.
The large double red doors of the Capitol Theatre allow for direct access, including larger items and handcarts. A dolly is available for those that need it.
