Cancellation Policy
We understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes event plans must change. This policy helps protect both our clients and our studio’s time while offering flexibility and fairness.
Your retainer secures your event date and is always non-refundable. It compensates for the time reserved, preparation, and the potential loss of other bookings.
If your event is postponed and you plan to continue working with us, all payments made beyond the retainer will convert to studio credits. These credits can be applied toward future events, sessions, or printed artwork within 12 months of cancellation.
If you decide not to move forward with Golightly Studios, payments made beyond the non-refundable retainer may qualify for a credit or partial depending on how close to the event date the cancellation occurs and how much work has already been completed.
Credits & Refunds
The chart below explains the various credit and refund options in the event of a cancellation.
| Time Before Event | Credit/Refund Amount |
|---|---|
| 9+ months before | 100% credit or 75% refund |
| 6-9 months before | 75% credit or 50% refund |
| 3-6 months before | 50% credit or 25% refund |
| Less than 3 months | No refund, credit at the studio's discretion |
Credits must be used within 12 months and cannot be transferred without written approval. They may be applied to portraits, events, or artwork purchases.
For events that required travel, lodging, or permits, any non-refundable costs already paid remain the client’s responsibility. These expenses must be reimbursed before any credits or refunds are finalized.
This structure ensures our clients receive fair value while protecting the resources and time invested in every project we photograph. Our goal is to handle each situation with understanding and integrity while maintaining consistency for all clients.
