Style
We photograph weddings in several different styles throughout the overall wedding day. We have found that this will provide you with a perfect mix of creative photos, but also those candid moments that capture the memories that matter most to you.
Below you can find a brief overview of our wedding photography styles and approaches:
Cinematic
Our cinematic wedding photography style features bold and dramatic lighting, epic sunsets, and stunning landscapes. Although we only utilize this approach for a few small portions of your wedding day, these will be some of your favorite photographs. Creating cinematic wedding photography requires extensive off-camera lighting skills. The truth is that many wedding photographers lack the skills required to photograph in this style. When you choose us as your wedding photographers, you will be able to enjoy creative images such as these!
Candid Moments
Candid and storytelling photography is the approach we will use for the majority of your wedding day. This style is also known as photojournalistic and documentary.
Family & Friends
Formal portraits of family, relatives, and friends typically occur before or after your wedding ceremony. These portraits are more posed in nature, but they are also important as it is usually the only time the entire family will be together.
Details & Attire
For various portions of your wedding day, we will take the time to photograph your wedding details & attire. Many times, couples bring along items that are sentimental or have historical significance to them or their family
Portfolio
Within our wedding photography portfolio, you will find a variety of wedding photographs taken over the years. We have created beautiful wedding images all over Knoxville from the Press Room to Cherokee Country Club. Viewing our wedding photography portfolio, you will find that our images are composed creatively, feature great lighting, and are sharp, as should be expected for a professional wedding photographer in Knoxville.
We are so grateful to have been able to gain a wealth of knowledge in photographing weddings over the years. Our comprehensive wedding portfolio covers religious weddings, including Christian, Jewish, Hindu, and more. Non-religious/non-denominational weddings are also included. Cultural weddings of American, Chilean, Mexican, Nigerian, Ghanaian, Liberian, Rwandan, Turkish, Venezuelan, and more can also be viewed.
Expertise
As a wedding professional, we will exemplify all of the expected qualities of a professional photographer including the following:
Standards of Quality
We will photograph your wedding to meet and exceed the standards of a professional Knoxville wedding photographer. In addition to industry standards, we also have a set of internal company standards we aim to meet and or exceed with every wedding.
Service Oriented
Your wedding is all about you and your family, we understand that! Before, during, and after your wedding we will maintain a service-oriented approach, meaning we are here for you!
Positive
No one wants a Negative Nate or Debbie Downer on their wedding day! We will bring along a positive attitude with us when photographing and interacting with family and guests.
Leader
Particular portions of your wedding day may require someone to step up and lead. When we see a need for this, we will step up and take charge. A good leader also knows when to follow, so we are also attentive as to when it is a good idea personality-wise to let someone else "lead".
Reliable
As to be expected of a professional, not only is our equipment reliable, but we are also reliable as photographers. This means exact and accurate timing of shots, being ready for the moment before it happens, and more.
Ethical
We will make the correct and ethical decisions before, during, and after your wedding day. We will treat others as we want to be treated and do what is right, even when no one is looking. For those that are part of our team, we will hold them to these standards as well. As documentarians, we cannot control what happens at your wedding or how certain guests may behave, but we can control ourselves and guide any situation to the best positive outcome.
Personable
Although we are already highly personable photographers, on your wedding day we will go out of our way to ensure those around us are comfortable and enjoy themselves.
Respectful
We will be respectful of not only those around us but also the traditions and decor at your wedding. This also means being aware of our surroundings, being polite, and speaking in a proper tone unless not required.
Efficient
At your wedding, we will aim to be as efficient as possible when photographing and working with you as well as your guests. We want you to have the most from your financial investment with us, and the more efficient we work, the more of your wedding you can enjoy.
Adaptable
We will be adaptable to any seen and unforeseen changes on your wedding day including change of timeline, change of lighting, change of weather, venue emergencies, personal emergencies, and more.
Professional
We will perform to and exceed the standards expected of a professional Knoxville wedding photographer. We will carry ourselves professionally throughout your wedding day as well as before and after.
Team Player
Don't hire a photographer who is a pain to work with! On your wedding day, we will go out of our way to ensure the entire wedding vendor team is working together as a single unit. This may mean over-communication or even helping them out when time allows.
Detailed
We will be detail-oriented on your wedding day and be aware of not only physical details but unspoken details as well.

Below you can find a quick summary of the wedding experience, for a detailed overview of our wedding experience and process, please visit our Wedding Experience Guide.
Before Your Wedding
Before your wedding, we will take the time to learn all about your overall wedding vision, style, and values. This is important to us so that we can photograph your wedding day in a way that is meaningful to you. We always meet with our couples in advance of the wedding day, and bring our local couples out to eat!
A few weeks after booking with us, depending on your wedding collection, your Engagement Session will take place. This is a perfect opportunity to learn how we work and to get comfortable in front of the camera.
In the month leading up to your wedding, you will receive a detailed questionnaire that includes things such as addresses, family names, vendors, etc. During this time we typically finalize the wedding timeline with your wedding planner.
During Your Wedding
On your wedding day, we prefer to show up a bit in advance of when our coverage time starts. This will allow us to pre-stage our equipment and get settled in. As the flow of your wedding day begins, we usually start with some detail photos, getting ready photos, and some creative photos.
During the ceremony, we will remain respectful of any traditions and aware of our surroundings, doing our best to blend in. With most weddings, the formal family portraits take place just after the wedding ceremony. We typically can complete most groupings in 15-25 minutes.
After your ceremony, there may or may not be a cocktail hour, in which you can mingle with your guests. Depending on your wedding timeline, we enjoy creating photos of our couples right at sunset. These photographs are highly creative and cinematic, as can be viewed in our cinematic wedding photography portfolio.
During your reception, we will capture more candid photos, but may also photograph formal portraits of guests if they are interested. Any formalities that include first dances, father and daughter first dances, mother and son first dances, bouquet tosses, garter tosses and speeches will be photographed in a candid manner.
Towards the end of your wedding reception, if you have a formal exit planned we will document that as well. Popular formal exit photos include sparklers, bubbles, and glowsticks.
After Your Wedding
After your wedding, we begin a comprehensive post-production workflow. At a high level, this typically entails backing up your wedding image in multiple locations, sorting through all of your images to find the best ones, and lastly editing your photos.
Within 2 weeks of your wedding, your photos will be ready and we usually schedule a premier viewing to present your photographs to you and walk you through what to expect next, which would be your album design.
You will have 100% control over your album design, however, we will make artistic recommendations and provide you with guidance throughout the process. Your album design is usually finalized on a video call, with your album being complete by the end of the call. Your wedding album is delivered in person for local couples or by mail for couples living further out or out of state.
